The Hardcore Games are pretty complex, and there are a lot of strategies that can help you get further. Here are a few tips and tricks that will definitely keep you alive longer and give you an advantage over other players.
1. Spawn Command
The /spawn command is perfect for getting a look at the map during the pre-game wait time. Simply type the command /spawn in the chat and it will teleport you to a random location on the map. Use this time to look for villages and temples, as well as swamps, that you can run to later in the game. Be sure to remember or write down the coordinates so you can go to them later.
2. Mini Feasts
Very few players go to the mini feasts. Not only do these feasts have a high chance of getting diamonds or potions, but they also provide an enchantment table where you can enchant your items. Be sure to take the time to walk to these feasts when their coordinates are announced. They are usually well worth it.
The compass is a tool that is fairly easy for finding out who is closest to you, but it can also be used to find out how far away people are. If you find a player in a tower or a player who isn’t moving and you know where they are by updating your compass, you can find out if anyone else is closer than them. This way you can move further away from one player and know how far another is when the compass switches to them. This can give you plenty of advance warning so you don’t fall into traps.
4. Death Notices
Death notices are very easy to ignore but they can provide a lot of information. Pay attention to the death messages because you can see if any player has a powerful weapon or what kit they are. You can use this information to avoid or target players with items you want or find ways to counter kits if you see them in advance.
5. First Two Minutes Hunger
During the first two minutes of the Hardcore Games you will NOT lose any hunger. This is the perfect time to run or do activities that would use up a lot of your hunger. If you have a long way to run, do so during the first two minutes so you can conserve your hunger. If you need to tower up, do it then so you can save your hunger as well.
Hopefully these tips will help you survive and increase the odds of you winning the Hardcore Games.
